Storm Rider: Legend of Hammerhead Premieres in Los Angeles

The sci-fi adventure film Storm Rider: Legend of Hammerhead made a splash in Los Angeles with its world premiere event at the Saban Theatre. The red-carpet screening brought together filmmakers, cast members, and industry guests to celebrate the launch of the ambitious independent production ahead of its theatrical release across the United States.

Directed by Zoran Lisinac and Domagoj Mazuran, the film blends large-scale world-building with action and mythology. Set three centuries after a catastrophic global flood, the story follows rebellious islanders who challenge the powerful rulers of a fortified city-state by daring to sail into a massive, never-ending storm that surrounds their world.

The cast includes Marco Ilsø, James Cosmo, Caroline Goodall, and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, who bring the film’s post-apocalyptic island universe to life. The project was developed as a bold independent production and is envisioned as the beginning of a larger cinematic universe known as the “Hydroverse.”

The Los Angeles premiere highlighted the film’s international roots as a Serbian-Croatian co-production filmed largely in Croatia’s dramatic coastal landscapes. With its mix of science fiction, adventure, and stylized visual effects, the film aims to introduce audiences to a new kind of genre storytelling described by its creators as “calamari sci-fi.”

Following its premiere, Storm Rider: Legend of Hammerhead is scheduled for a U.S. theatrical release on March 13, 2026, distributed by Blue Harbor Entertainment.
