Oscars® Season Comes to Life at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures
Los Angeles—Film lovers, mark your calendars! The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is rolling out a dynamic lineup of events and experiences celebrating awards season from January 22 through March 22, 2026. Dubbed Oscars® Season at the Academy Museum, this festival of film history, cinema culture, and community celebration invites visitors of all ages to experience the magic of the Academy Awards in new and immersive ways.
A Season of Celebration and Discovery
In anticipation of the 98th Academy Awards®—which will be broadcast live on March 15, 2026—the museum has transformed its campus into a vibrant hub of film‑centric programming. The schedule includes everything from film screenings and gallery tours to spotlight talks and themed exhibits designed to highlight the art and craft of moviemaking.

🖼 Gallery Experiences & Exhibits
From now through March 25, visitors can enjoy an Oscars‑themed montage in the Spielberg Gallery and a fresh rotation of iconic red carpet fashion in the Academy Awards History Gallery, including notable pieces worn by Hollywood legends. A brand‑new exhibition titled 19 Branches of the Academy opens March 1 to spotlight the diverse crafts and professionals that make Oscar‑worthy films possible.
🎥 Film Screenings & Oscar Sundays
Whether you’re a cinephile or just love a movie night, the museum’s Oscar Sundays series offers curated screenings in the David Geffen Theater celebrating achievements in sound, editing, and cinematic storytelling—from classic crowd‑pleasers to modern masterpieces.
🎤 Nominee Spotlights & Panels
In the week leading up to the Oscars ceremony, from March 7–14, guests can attend nominee spotlight discussions with filmmakers and industry creatives across categories like Animated Feature, Documentary, and International Film. Short film showcases and lobby displays of production materials round out this immersive celebration of Oscar contenders.
🎉 Official Oscars® Watch Party
On Oscar night itself—Sunday, March 15—the museum hosts its fifth annual Official Oscars® Watch Party. Attendees can watch the live broadcast from the Walt Disney Company Piazza, enjoy photo moments, shop exclusive merchandise, sip themed beverages, and toast the biggest night in Hollywood. Creative cocktail attire is encouraged!

Good food and film meet at Fanny’s Restaurant, where a special Oscar‑inspired cocktail menu will be served through March 31. Fans can also pick up commemorative items and apparel in the Academy Museum Store.
